And to add

We've got 70 sextillion star systems scattered across 100 billion
galaxies spread over 13.7 billion light years of space - and I am
not even including all the space we don't know about or the
possibility of an infinite number of other universes.

So, do we leave the cradle for the wide open spaces, or do
we stay at home and fret about one little star? I bet a lot of
other intelligences had similar decisions to make and at least
some of them packed up and moved elsewhere.

And don't forget, this Universe probably won't last forever
either, so we better start planning for that eventuality as
well, too.
