When one of my right wing acquaintances on Facebook blindly regurgitates a right wing meme, snopes is the first place I go... it generally has copious links to supporting documentation for their determination of true and false...
One example that just came up 2 days ago: http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/societyquote.asp
another one:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/homeinvasion.asp
and another:
http://www.snopes.com/george-washington-gun-quote/
And even though there are far more liberals on my feed than conservatives, the number of outright falsehoods and counterfactuals from the conservatives DWARFS those from the more numerous liberals... but occasionally I do have to call in Snopes on a liberal... this one came up a couple months ago:
http://www.snopes.com/1998-trump-people-quote/
Snopes is fair, balanced and usually rigorously researched- as a result republicans usually dislike it intensely, and call it a liberal site.
