I use snopes against my conservative brother all the time.
At first I thought he simply didn't know it was available as a resource, but I keep on destroying the outrage factory posts he forwards to me, and he simply keeps on sending them. You'd think he at least check them first by running them by snopes, but he doesn't.
I really do believe there's a warehouse full of paid screed writers somewhere that makes this stuff up, and a whole demographic of dildos and bimbos who dutifully pass them on to their friends as "evidence". The birther movement is a perfect example.
Here is one from today's splash page at snopes. No doubt this is how they have been able to "prove" that all Liberals have long had a "plan" to ban all guns.
