To answer your question.

"So tell me, are the machines working for us, or the other way round?"

Your MacDonald's example reveals more about our dependence on machines rather than our enslavement to them, two very different things.

I have surmised that my generation services, builds, maitains, and repairs the machines that work for us.

Eventually intelligent machines will do that job too.
I don't think that will make human's obsolete or is even a good reson to discontinue us.

It is work, to sevice the machines, but I don't think of it as slavery or compulsive labor I do have a choice, I can still use a shovel rather than a Ditch Witch.

I keep getting this vision of a Robot standing over me as my boss while I am compelled to dig that ditch with a shovel to save real power, machine power! Lol. I can laugh now.

Human's are the most complex biochemical organic "Androids" we know to exist.

A.I. has a long long way to go before it can rival us.

I am kind of surprised that nobody strongly disagreed with me that millions of people will inevitably be killed by A.I. machines, note that I did not propose that genocide or extinction was a probability, Possibilities maybe, not really probabilities I.M.H.O.
