Yeah. Existential crisis.

It doesn't matter how big a hammer you use, that peg isn't going to fit. Repeating that mantra over and over isn't going to make it true.

"Follow the money?" So actually follow the money for a change instead of just repeating the phrase as a mindless mantra.

Go down to "The Empire Strikes Back" thread and print those political donor charts out in my response. Follow the damn money. What do you see? More numbers here.

You still think this is about the "Redneck Right?"

Look at the polls. Not the primary ones, that are all about the base. The general election ones, that poll voters across the board, Democrat and Republican.

Since last August, Clinton has never been more than about six points ahead of Trump in the cumulative numbers, and is now at two points. Right now Ted Cruz is two points ahead of Clinton. Are those all "Redneck Rightists?"

If you keep clinging to your straw men, you'll never see why someone like Trump or Cruz could get as far as they have.

And on the other side, Bernie Sanders, who in a sane world would never had gotten beyond mayor, is nipping at the ankles of Hillary Clinton, who has been blessed by the Party, and almost $100 million in donor money. Moveon.org--remember where that name originally came from?--is enthusiastically endorsing Sanders. Is this the "Redneck Right?"

The weirdest part of this is I would bet cash you have no idea what the tax, regulatory, welfare, or any other policies actually are of any of these "outlaw" candidates. In fact, I'd bet money most of the supporters of Trump, Cruz and Sanders don't either. That isn't what's driving this, for liberal or conservative voters.

People are angry at the government we have. It's that simple. There are two radically different directions people think we should go. Conservatives want to see less government power at the Federal level, more restraint, and less waste. Liberals think it will all work if we finally go the distance and give government all the power and control of the nation's wealth.

What you want to watch for now is the Establishments of both parties finally admitting this is real, and then going for the kill. There will be multiple attacks on all of these candidates, and the media will dutifully repeat what the Establishment tells them so you won't miss it.
