It didn't cause any thrill up my leg [as Chris Matthew would say].

Bush going to aircraft carrier was a minor story, blown out of all proportions by the media. The media managed to turn a simple event into something they got wrong in multiple directions and generally were quite spastic about it. Similar delusion was involved with the plastic turkey story.

I don't think any president has ever caused the media to get this excited for such a prolonged period.
Now, since Bush will be probably known as a great president, the media excitement for this would be almost surprising. But it's Bush Derangement Syndrome which the main cause of such excitement.

The media will miss Bush- because they like being foaming mad insane. They will probably cry when he leaves- quite shameful, actually.
And they probably pester him after he leaves office.

Now, I would fine with 8 more years of Bush [someone exactly like him], though I would be deeply concerned about the press dropping dead from their excitement.

Either of the current batch of hopefuls, seem that they will cause the media to relax a bit.
But I can't predict this, I basically thought same about either Gore or Bush. And what about Dem convention? The Rep convention should be fairly sleepy, but Dem could be boring affair or a bloodbath with all kinds of voluminous shrieking & wailing.
