What's with people?

Is everyone so eager for a messiah that they will give any sleazy politician a pass? Is a bit of eloquent rhetoric all you need to become a follower? Frank had this one pegged Art. Here you are an atheist rallying for a guy who has immersed himself in militant theocracy? Excuse me?

Don't you see the contradiction?

Wanting something to be true doesn't make it true. McCain's a sleazebag, Hillary's a sleazebag and yes Obama is a sleazebag...albeit a younger one who has not yet accrued as many incidents as an older politician with more years of sleazy wheeling and dealing under his/her belt. That's Obama's only plus. He's clearly cut of politician cloth - all sleaze and ambition.

You'll give Obama a pass for whitewashing, and by so doing endorsing, a nationally militant religious preacher and yet rail on the evil of some poor valley Mormon dude espousing his views aloud at a racquetball center?

Don't you see that your political faith is turning you into a hypocrite of the first order? Faith comes in many shapes and sizes and you still need to discover that you are exhibiting just as much faith and fervor as any local valley religionist.

This election is going to be the worst offering ever. Manure, Poop or Fertilizer - take your pick. I realize this. I'm not going to be writing any great defense of the GOP Presidential candidates this year, because none has been deserved. If McCain defies his track record and actually makes a wise decision on his VP selection - I might defend the VP, but that's about it.

You of all people should be the one never give religious folks a pass based on blind faith and wish fulfillment and yet with Obama that's exactly what you are doing.
