That there has been progress on almost every front since August, including (if you've kept track) on the political front, is glaringly obvious. You might notice that the Great Basra Explosion that had the American Left popping champagne corks a week ago fizzled out, too.
Again, I find it fascinating that some people seem to get angriest when it looks like things are going better over there.
