If there s progress, why are the troops not leaving?
There are so many US troops in Iraq you can't plan to get out without announcing it in advance.
You don't announce in advance because you fear Iraqis will take advantage of that and start massacres.
Therefore, you're stuck there, even when there is so called "progress".
There's a huge amount of hypocrisy, there!
What matters is not progress, but giving the Iraqis full sovereignty of their country and leave it.
And that "might" only happen after six months of no suicide bombers anywhere in the country. What will make the US position undefendable is the huge dfference of perception between the moment the majority of iraqis want to see the US get out and that moment according to the US.
