I have always found it entertaining when the Left has to completely invert a favorite meme down to the molecular level, and somehow try to pretend they've always thought that way.
I posted a while back on the "chickenhawk" suddenly becoming an endangered species.
In 2004, the meme was Kerry, the "war hero," versus Bush, the "service dodger." The Left massaged this theme to the point where it became conventional wisdom that those who were not participants in military service or had loved ones in Iraq, had no real right to say anything in support of the war, or in extreme cases, anything about the war issue at all. They weren't very consistent about it--as just one example, somehow only anti-war Gold Star families were assumed to exist.
Oh, I suppose somehow they'll manage to spin it, just like they'll deal with their total embarassment on the surge when they confront Petraeus again. Nobody can massage reality like they can.
Current Events » in reply to it would be good to have a President who's son is serving in uniform.
It should make the election interesting.
