Extreme chauvinism. The idea that everyone should live the way that person does, have the same values, material, religious and spiritual, and that if a society doesn't want to adopt those the more technoligically advanced has the right to kill 'em as unenlightened infidels.
Attitudes which are alive and well in many areas of the world. Although some are defending their way of life on their own soil from those who aggressively insist they change it through force.
