Freeing Tibet is the fad of the moment for people who just have
to protest something. Or have gotten caught up in the latest
news media hype. Or bits of both. I doubt in the extreme that
any of them have ever been anywhere near Tibet and only know
what is going on there through their own propoganda networks,
if that. More likely they saw a news blurb on CNN.

If we reallly want to send China and the world a message, we
need to do it by participating in the Olympics and winning all
the events in their own capital. Since so many people focus
and take sports so seriously, maybe our athletic superiority
will shame China into freeing Tibet.
