Space/Science » in reply to After the Electric car, now the Electric House

Why not one house, one building at a time.

School buildings cosume most of their electrical
energy during the daytime.
Fancy that!
Why not install solar-panels on schools to
reduce their electric grid requirements 24/7
down to levels that are neglible?
A sunny place like Australia would benefit.

Air-conditioning units!
Prodigious energy consumers.
When are they needed most?
During the daytime?

Hook them up to solar panels!

Industrial parks & commercial lots have buildings with
large flat roofs. Ideal for solar panels.

Just think! They can in the long term
give the owners of such buildings
energy savings.
They can even use such solar panels
to return power to the grid on occasion.

American commercial building owners with flat roofs
are reluctant to invest their own money in such new
concepts; they want government funding or handouts
to fund such a 'novel' idea.
SUGGESTION: In America, instead of government handouts to a business
like that, give them tax incentives to carry out such an solar installation.
