Insult is one thing.
I can imagine a Christian as being upset by a similar picture of Jesus. They might even protest and call for a boycott. But how many would start rioting, beheading people, burning cars and buildings, or blowing themselves up in crowded places?
Notice the reactions to this as compared to a few simple cartoons. Would a similar depiction of Mohammed ever be considered for public viewing in a museum? If not, then why? We already know the answer to that.
