Is there a petroleum geologist in the house?
It reminds me of the mysterious "hazy anomalies" in Thematic Mapper scenes that were allegedly correlated with oil fields back in the early 80s. Did anything ever come of that? It was a really big deal when I worked in remote sensing for Gulf Oil back then, but I've heard nothing else about it since I got out of the industry. I know I spent a lot of time trying to develop processing algorithms that would enhance them, but I got nowhere.
