Isn't that kind of S.O.P. in your line of work?
Anybody in the computer/code business must be used to seeing whatever they worked on a few years back pushing up daisies now. It's a "Red Queen" situation. Heck, I'm just a consumer of the stuff and I have enough trouble keeping up.
