A deafening silence. Bush, Cheney and the price of oil.

I haven't seen anything where George Bush or Dick Cheney express concern over the price of oil and the effect of that on the economy. Given their constituency, interests and financial ties that's not strange. However, given their duty to the larger population I would think they would have at least had some remarks which could be interpreted as exhibiting concern.
