The subject was the price of the product running through the refineries.
Now a refinery running at 100% processing oil at $115 a barrel will probably have an end product costing more than a refinery running at 100% of capacity processing oil which costs $60 a barrel.
My only point is that while previous administrations decried the price and attempted to get the price down, Bush & Co. are doing what they can to drive the price up, with no expressions of sympathy for the US economy.
And the only way it makes sense to increase the Strategic Petroleum Reserves right now is if they know the supplies from the Middle East will be disrupted before the price of oil goes down.
