I am reading a book by Nickola Tesla, with additional material by David Hatcher Childress.

In this book it states:

Like Tesla, Marconi was known to perform anti-gravity experiments abord his boat, ELECTRA. Marconis' yacht was a floating super laboratory from which he sent signals into space and lit lights in Australia in 1930.
In June of 1936, Marconi demonstrated a wave gun to Benito Mussolini. Marconi 's device caused the elecrical systems in all the cars ( on a busy hwy. N. of Milan) to malfunction for half an hour. Mussolinis' wife, who was on the hwy. at that time, as per her husbands' request, wrote of this in her autobiography. Her chauffer and other motorists checked their fuel pumps and spark plugs.

It is said that while Mussolini was pleased with the invention, Pope Pius XI took steps to stop Marconi's research of paralyzing rays. According to followers of Marconi, Marconi then took his yacht to South America in 1937, after faking his own death.
