This is a very good example of "the horse that can count". The trainer and the animal work together, often subconsciously. Both are smart. A good product is saleable and feeds both.
The interesting (or disappointing) thing is that this is an Elephant reproducing a Human's view of an Elephant. It's a line-drawing, based on existing cultural traditions - with a distinct hint of Thai artistry.
I'd be MUCH more interested in what an ELEPHANT's view of an elephant was.
Just as Picasso showed faces with three eyes, or Dali's objects melted across landscapes, each artist imprints his world-view on the art work.
I wonder WHAT an elephant sees as the essence of Elephant? Or what it feels is sexy or cute or comical?
