First, the woman is enormously ambitions (not a vice) and incompetent. Think of her statement about WTC - "Who would have thought terrorists would fly a plane into a building?"

That was her job as National Security Advisor. Many people had thought about it, written books about it, and the intelligence agencies had been warned.

Second, her saying the intelligence "didn't rise to the level" of her awareness. Well, what was rising to the level? What threats was she considering that seemed even more consequential than WTC?

Third, at one point Condi stated,"I own Iraq." This was afterRumsfeld, being way to wise politically to stay with a losing proposition, had abdicated the responsibility of rebuilding Iraq.

She hasn't done much of a job with her new possession. It seems to consist of secretly flying over there to warn al-Maliki to effect reconciliation.

Fourth, and this is by no means even 1% of a comprehensive list, Rice is a well-documented liar. Not misled by intelligence, she utters what she knows to be untrue.

And last, why would such an ambitious person decline the opportunity to run for Vice President? In my opinion it's because she knows they would not be elected or, more likely, her financial and personal affairs would not withstand scrutiny and she knows it.
