I don't know enough about who's manufacturing this, or what the point is, to make judgments about motivations.
I expect there is a natural time limitation on historical outrage for most people and cultures--Western ones, at least--but considering there are still people walking around with numbers tattooed on their arms, I like to hope we haven't gotten there yet with the Third Reich.
