Small towns aren't that bad.
I lived in a town with fewer than 1,000 people and we had cable. I live several miles from a town of around 18,000, and we have great doctors and resturants. Our ratio of thugs is fairly small, so it's a fairly peaceful place. Only an occasional murder once or twice a year.
