"5.3 million more payroll jobs right now"

Of course there are more jobs now than prior to Bush coming into office. The economy hasn't done well, but it hasn't shrunk. The problem is how many more? Even a slowly growing economy will create jobs, and perhaps 1-1.5 million jobs are created each year to keep up with population growth.

Actually, I would have been more generous and guessed that perhaps 7-8 million jobs were created under Bush. Still, that falls well short of the 20 million created under President Clinton.
