May explain something I have wondered about
Bananas have alway been a favorite of mine and it is horrifying to think they might go extinct.
I have alway taken them for granted without a clue that they are endangered or that a variety has already succumed.
Perhaps this explains why bananas seem to peel differently than I remember from my childhood. I remember when the stem broke easily with a quick snap. Now the stem is rubbery and often must be cut or bitten to peel the banana.
Damn, a world without bananas, that's a depressing thought.
