magnetic grains are common, but not so many as to cause the soil to clump like a bunch of iron filings on a bar magnet. Of course, the Phoenix site *might* be very different to every else we've visited on Mars, but it is unlikely that the difference would be as profound as this, and in a magnetic sense.
