Political philosophies
The current Republican philosophies don't match mine, either, but unfortunately I don't get to pick from a large menu in this country. The alternative "progressive" (what they're calling themselves now) ideas are worse.
The weakness in our society is that we have concentrated power too highly in the central government, something the founders were trying desperately to prevent (having seen the results over all of history).
In a properly-organized nation, it shouldn't MATTER this much who's president.
