Space/Science » in reply to But he named his kid Astyanax

Actually, Hector named him Scamandrius...

...but the people of Ilium nicknamed the kid Astyanax which means "King of the City". However,

According to Lindemans

"He was killed during the fall of Troy, when Neoptolemus, son of Achilles, threw him from the wall, saying to Andromache, "Since my father killed his father he might try to avenge the death. He also could become King of Troy, and we want no more kings of Troy!"

Incidentally, my account of the touching scene with Hector, Andromache, and Astyanax was in error, and did not occur just prior to his combat with Achilles. It happens earlier, in Book VI. My mistake.
