The owners, whether governments or stockholders (which are mostly other corporations), only care about profits, and the managers are just bureaucrats who must satisfy their masters to keep their salaries. There are no conspiracies, the system itself is not corrupted by human villains, it is independent of all human control at all. Everybody is just trying to do their job. Everybody iss chust followink orderss.

These are not mom and pop shops and corner lemonade stands. This is finance capital. And this is what happens if you just turn it loose and let it operate without human supervision and regulation.
