40 year memory degradation
Funny, this is the clearly the same picture from your research, but it's not at all the way I remember it. My recollection is of a profile from the right side, from the waist up, and with both hands on his hips.
There should be some clues about how memory is stored (and degrades) in the brain from this observation.
