We're not so happy down here in Oz, but...
It comes as just part of a long history of being somewhere forgettable.
The Brits sent us their convicts, in WWI we were cannon fodder - more expendable than "real" Englishmen. In WWII they left us to fend for ourselves after Singapore fell and were surprised we didn't fall before the "yellow wave".
Later they tested atomic bombs on us, and the really best bit is they convinced us that the USA was a "good friend"..
yeah, right....
