A larger population of Iranian Jews reside in Israel with the former President of Israel Moshe Katsav, former Chief of Staff and Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, former Chief of Staff Dan Halutz and Israeli hip-hop star Subliminal being the most famous of this group.
Also, declassified reports exist which show Israel supplying Iran with weapons during the Iran-Iraq war. This was of course the proverbial “my enemy’s enemy is my friend.”

Nevertheless, there is a complex ambiguous history of interactions among USA, Israel, and Iran. Behind the posturing there is wiggle room.
