Over compensating
The point I’m trying to make is we must never succumb to the temptation of giving in to the easy solution, the simple answer, the convenient explanation that allows us to just do what our darker nature tells us, simply to annihilate the bastards, send them to hell once and for all. You do realize there are those who want us to do just that?
So evil in the world cannot be identified and condemned because of the possible backlash of counter evil forces? That's a pretty weak argument. I would suggest that the greater attention drawn to social injustice, the more it is put under the microscope, the sooner reforms in those societies will take place. To ignore them only protects the status quo. There is evidence of this already as many muslims societies have moved to ban child marriages. Mohammad had his child bride and thus this sick cultural practice was acceptable for centuries. The scorn of the outside world is what has caused the internal muslim debate on this. The same can be said for FGM. And the same can be said about women's rights in general. Saudi is feeling the outside pressure about how their society treats women.
Your statistics are persuasive. But don’t be seduced by them. They may well be true, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t carefully assembled for the worst of reasons. And I’m sure a clever scribbler could just as easily put together an equally convincing brief against us.
Now that is the argument of a Fox News Republican. Don't believe the source, they are probably lying to you. Forget the data, don't try to research anything, if it doesn't fit your world view, it's a liberal lie.
Pew Research is an established polling firm with decades of history using scientific polling methods. And as I said there's plenty in the research to support your views on this subject. I would really have liked to have seen results in Saudi and Iran but they apparently did not allow Pew to conduct the poll.
