LONDON - "The United States will announce in the next month that it plans to establish a diplomatic presence in Tehran for the first time in 30 years, a British newspaper said Thursday.
"In a front-page report, the Guardian said Washington would open a U.S. interests section in the Iranian capital, halfway towards opening an embassy."
Now that seems to be a lot like talking with them, an idea fostered by many people including Obama. The suggestion has been harshly ridiculed by John McCain, who thinks that if the US just tells a sovereign nation to do something it should. (I wonder how well that would work with the US??!! Or you or me?)
Even if nothing comes of that there are other talks going on. Which must be to McCain's discomfort.
Who would have thought - it looks as if Obama's best supporters this July are Jesse Jackson and George W. Bush.
