I'm concerned that NASA is perhaps spending energy "circling the wagons" that could be put to better use by engaging inthe kind of study Aldrin suggests. What kid of govt agency turns down the chance to generate more paperwork?
I understand that NASA's got a mandate from on high, and that part of management's job is to drive the team forward, but under what seem to increasingly troublesome circumstances surrounding the existing VSE, it might be a good idea to ask some tough questions and not be afraid of the answers.
