re: Sarah Palin's Pattern of Religious Fanatiscm Becoming Clear

Thanks for the post, I like that he acknowledges global warming/supports some carbon programs, but I'm not sure his fanatical running mate does....

There are some things starting to come out about S. Palin that are establishing a clear pattern of behavior and thought that is even more shocking than her overall lack of experience outside the US/Alaska - she is apparently unsure if the Earth is more than 10,000 years old (at one point a young earth creationist - and still may be). Also, she has made comments indicating that she is unsure if mankind is contributing to global warming (partially why she would have us drilling almost everywhere).

As you well know, both of these fanatical beliefs fly in the face of the FACTS, and rational thought. The age of the Earth and other planetary bodies in our solar system has been proven by different testing methods of Earth Rocks, Moon Rocks, Mars Rocks, Rocks from Asteroids, Plate Tectonics, Red Shifting light, distant quasars, etc. by scientists all across the globe. One need simply check the USGS site to find out that our planet Earth is approx. 4.6 Billion years old and that is a fact. The Dinosaurs did rule the planet Earth hundreds of millions of years before human beings were ever around, and that is a fact! Even the oil she wants so badly to drill is 10-300 million years old - that is how oil is formed, by decaying (ancient) organic material over millions of years. When did proven scientific facts leave the building - these things are indisputable. I make the argument that her apparent belief in young Earth Creationism makes her unfit to be a health crisis away from the Presidency. If she believes contrary, why not speak up in favor of science?

And then to essentially deny that human beings pumping who knows how many billions of tons of particulates into our atmosphere over the years is having little to no effect, I mean come on, this is absolutely ridiculous.

This all goes right along with her other fanatical religious beliefs, i.e. her zero tolerance reproductive choice position. Women who are raped should be forced to have their babies (then use adoption). Furthermore, that the doctors who perform abortions on these rape victims should be arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned. Come on....are these doctors really criminals that belong in our already overcrowded prison and legal systems?

More info. on her fanatical religious beliefs here (which include banning books about homosexuality in Wasilla County) - Article "At this point, people in this country don’t grasp what this person is all about. The key to understanding Sarah Palin is understanding her radical theology.”

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the McCain/Palin ticket flat out has no exit strategy/real foreign policy strategy for our 140,000 troops in Iraq (where we are spending $12 Billion every month damaging our economy). This war is simply not worth the blood and treasure. We need to start pulling out combat brigades and redeploying some of them to the Afgan/Pakistan border (a continued presence of 140,000 US troops in Iraq/permanent bases there is not the answer).

With Palin being one heartbeat away, I am scared as an American - her clear pattern of religious fanaticism is flat out wrong for our United States. I just don't see how the McCain/Palin ticket adds up at all on the real issues of our day (no end to the war, only small steps to end to global warming (drill baby drill), no real foreign policy changess to improve our standing in the world, no real health care changes for most americans, etc.)
