One of them is playing craps and continues to play even though he
keeps losing money every time.

His fellow physicist, becoming alarmed at the steady loss of their
funds, asks his colleague why he keeps playing despite losing every
time.

The other physicist replies:

"Because in an alternate universe, I am making a fortune!"
