During that discussion, I worked out that the cost to the government of nationalizing health care would be somewhere in the $1 trillion range, using the cost levels Canada has.
Not a one-time "bailout." Every year. Forever. Assuming costs didn't go up, and in any subsidized economic activity, costs ALWAYS go up.
I heard no howling about "socializing," (a word that I suspect has never crossed your lips until now), the cost to the taxpayer, or the power that would be wielded by the government organization that ran it.
