...topped 40 gee from what I heard. Bad news for the crew.

I agree about NEOs versus the Moon - if the Moon is dry. But the new work on water in its mantle is making that proposition seem dubious. Still a few juicy dormant comets amongst the NEOs would be handy. Would be good if someone at NASA took the NEOs more seriously as targets in their own right.
