Americans didn't blame Roosevelt for the last Depression; they won't blame Obama for this one
Honestly I believe that this prolonged period of economic crisis, together with demographic changes in the nation that the GOP appears hopelessly out of touch with, spell the beginning of the end of the Republican Party. It'll probably be extinct as a major national party in 20 years. What's fascinating is that more and more of the conservative wing of the GOP has already written McCain off, and are already championing Palin as their choice in 2012. Unbelievable, and a shocking and sad statement for what once was, historically, the party of Lincoln.
