Pretty much the second Bush was inaugurated, I've been hearing about the imminent crash of our economy every week for all of those eight years. With Krugman, it became a running joke on the internet.

God knows what the heck the Democrats would have done with themselves without the war to rail at.

However, nobody looking at a graph of housing prices would have believed that was normal.

Obviously, politicians and their political contributors weren't as concerned. I was, and went very conservative when I refinanced.
