money itself is a social contract.
Hell, private property has value only as long as there is a government to back up the private property holder.
People get nervous when they start thinking that some aspects of the money supply isn't 'real'- but in essence monetary value is no more real than governments or ideas are.
That doesn't make it any less important, nor am I saying its a fantasy. 'Justice' is a human idea without objective reality, but try to run a civilization without it. So too goes Money.
