this at the same time that they're all outraged because someone in Hamas said something nice about Obama once. The hypocrisy just drips out of you guys.

Actually I could care less that some rube in Al Quaeda said this because many of us have been saying exactly this theory for years, that of course terrorists would want a reactionary leader as they got in Bush that they could draw into a prolonged and costly struggle far from the US borders and show up on their recruiting posters.

McCain shows exactly the same propensity in his world view. He seems to want to bomb first, talk second.

To tell you the truth Obama is even too warlike in his speeches for me but I get the impression he's simply saying what must be said to get into office and will look at all options as he goes forward. In my opinion Afghanistan a lost cause and any resources we sink into that country will be a waste. Yes, we'll kill bad guys but more will always replace them and their culture will never fit a democratic government. The Russians figured it out. Maybe someday we will.
