The price of gas is falling. I think that's fishy.
Now I know there is cheaper crude in the pipeline. I also know it usually takes time for it to work it's way into the price structure, it usually doesn't happen this rapidly. And there are endless reasons for the price of gas to stay up.
It's Fall. Predicting a hard winter, stockpiling heating oil is taking place. They love this one almost as much as the "fomulating gas for California" excuse.
Maintenance. Refineries, of which there is limited capacity, need maintenance, and that is effectively limiting production.
Political instability. Due to tensions in either Africa, South America, the Middle East, the Caucusas, Russia and/or Venezuela has created instability causing a price rise.
But the price is falling fast.
One guess why. The US elections. Gas prices in the US are typically manipulated by a small number of companies who do not want the electorate angry with either them or Conservatives at election time. And it's election time. Price falling fast, for a little while.

The price of gas.
