The desperation here is palpable. It's like trying to talk reason with the Hale-Bopp folks....no the comet is not concealing a spaceship....no please don't listen to the guy telling you it's all going to be better soon.
My guess is that if Obama wins, the cult of Obama will live in euphoria and have a media honeymoon for about 9 months until suddenly the other shoe drops in the form of an attack, a foreign incident or the delayed action of a socialized banking system. Then reality will click in. Socialized medicine, tax hikes all around and amnesty for illegals should help expedite the complete collapse of the free market within two years time.
If things get really nasty, I will set up a Galt's Gulch out here. With all these LDS-ers and their reserve stockpiles, the region is already primed with folks who believe in self-sufficiency. Creating a community that still values self-sufficiency and is a microcosm of the capitalist US in good times wouldn't be that challenging. I really hope it wont come to that - but I never would have thought I'd see the day the US would socialize the banks, much less with a GOP executive branch at the helm, either.
So at this point, nothing surprises me.
Watching over half the nation, in some sort of unfathomable stupor, put on their black Nikes and get ready for the next step up "social enlightenment" while the government straps on their guns and gunny sacks for "wealth redistribution" and "economic justice" is not my idea of entertainment.

- Another one convicted. "Sen. Stevens found guilty on corruption charges."
- By the way. 7 felony convictions and he's still running. What's meant by "no shame".
- Hey, Colin Powell endorsed him!
- Thats right, TB. A character witness at a criminal trial...
- I see. Powell endorsing Steven's character makes him MUCH more credible.
- And the right's destruction of Powell...
- No, but it might lead to a lighter sentence or perhaps conviction on lesser counts
- I just know your head can explode before the election!

- Looks like another senate seat, then, that just *might* go democratic that a year ago was as red as it gets. (n/t)
