re: That was my money you're talking about

"Last I heard it was less than $100. "

Heard from whom?

Did you also hear that Al Gore in his global warming campaign was also getting such small donations?

The Dem have been the party of the rich since the beginning- granted, that not what you have been told.

I've heard that the Dems are for the Poor.
And I believe the Dems are for the Poor- that they have always been for the Poor.
And there is no doubt that the Dems *want* to represent the Poor. You could say the Dems need the Poor and obviously since they are human, that they even want more of the Poor.

Now, you haven't heard very much about the Dems being the party of the rich. Though I dare say, you have heard a fair amount that they are the party of the educated and sophisticated. That they are comprised of the smart and beautiful.
No doubt then, that the Dem are wonderful people who are willing to give some tax dollars to the Poor, the people they doing such a wonderful job representing all these years.

You might imagine that it's possible I don't like this party of the rich.
Nothing could be further from the truth*.

But I'm not a huge fan of brainwashing, nor, btw am I a huge fan of worshiping [both could be called "educational"] which shouldn't be construe to mean I hate either.
Though I do admit to spending too much time being annoyed by ads- making solemn oaths never to buy such products, cursing the Fates, and other seemingly unnecessary emotional behavior. [I would say irrational emotional behavior if not for the vast volume of ads, and seemingly as inevitable as taxes- which *obviously* they are a related species of.]

Btw, I might think it was a good thing, if there was actually a political party *of* the Poor, which represented the Rich, among other interest groups- but that's my Utopian/unrealistic streak speaking. It has never happened nor is it likely. Though using a token of the Poor is pretty common stuff. Actually it's quite an ancient idea, probably ancient at the time the first stones of the pyramids were placed.

*The obvious truth is that the Dem party has been the main political party of America since it's founding, and America is a rich and wonderful country, so wonderful that never has there been a better nation on the face of this Earth.

The question from it's beginning has always been, how long will it last.
It's also natural to ask, can there ever be something better than America? And also if America fails, will it be a past glory unmatched in the future? {And it goes without say, mostly unknown and mysterious}

I prefer a future where America is seen as somewhat interesting, but seen as a people as almost as poor and as uneducated as those people living in other previous golden periods of human civilization.
