You might also note the selection of Raum Emmanuel as Chief of Staff. He is certainly a partisan pit bull but his economic policy preferences are pretty moderate -- the DLC mold -- and he is extremely hawkish on Israel (having fought in their military, in fact). Other picks I'm hearing about include keeping Gates at DoD or Hagel if Gates won't stay, and the CEO of Exelon (the biggest operator of nuclear plants) as Sec of Energy.
