I don't think so, Laurie.

Oh, I'm sure you're smart enough, I just suspect you're too burdened with a coherent world-view. You're troubled when you can't see the world consistently.

For instance, if you saw two men mugging two little old ladies, how many crimes would you think you'd have seen? I'm sure you'd say two.

It takes dark logic to recognize that if one of them had a T-shirt saying "America - love it or leave it" you have seen only one crime, and know that the first despicable criminal deserves death. But not the T-shirt guy.

You would know the other old lady was a moral degenerate, cruel to her children and even meaner to her grandchildren. A carrier of many diseases, she was clearly waiting to infect the mugger who had to act first and fast in self-defence. You'd know that mugging was in the interests of world peace and prosperity. You would stomp over the old lady on your way to embracing the mugger, suggesting he deserved a national political office in order to have access to bigger and better muggings. As for this second old lady, she should head off to jail for first attacking and then resisting the mugger.

I don't think you could resist the temptation to call both situations crimes. You're out of luck with the dark logic test.

As far as the phrase, the concept, the recognition of "dark logic", it's yours with this caveat. At present, "dark logic" can only be described, not understood. By it's very nature it's inexplicable to those who understand that if:

A = B, and

B = C, then

A = C.
