I'm curious, what you gave up "standing for".
But first, what does "standing for" entail.
Believing something? Working towards something-
hour/days/years spent doing something
Representing something: "role model" or being
some elected official. Or similar "function", taking a role in this board as a Republican.
Perhaps, one could "more or less" say all the above, but which is more important or what do you really mean, when you say give up on.
I'm assuming you mostly mean, giving up on some specific beliefs. And therefore I'm interested in what these beliefs were. Actually, I'm more interested in what these past beliefs were rather than any fresh ones you may hold.
But if you mean merely changing your voting habits, this is less interesting. Though discussing why, might be somewhat interesting.
