To learn more, we may need the help of radio-telescopes.

If Fomalhaut(b) exoplanet has a jovian mass,
or greater, it should have a strong magnetic-field and radiation
belt as well.

If Fomalhaut(b) should have a magnetic-field and a radiation
belt as, or nearly as powerful as Jupiter's, as well as [possibly] possessing large moons nearby with at least one of them spewing ionized elements [like sulfur or sodium] from volcanoes like Io does into
the planet's magnetosphere then...Fomalhaut(b) may have
powerful dekametric wavelength radio emissions that can be
isolated/seperated from that system's stellar radio emissions.

Just as part of Jupiter's powerful radio emissions correspond
to both Jupiter's rotational period and to Io's orbital period,
should Fomalhaut(b) emit similarly powerful radio emissions
they would be detectable here on Earth and confirm the
existence of a large moon in orbit around that exoplanet
and tell us a great deal more.
